S.C. Schantz, A local activist and eccentric figure in Lewis County passed away at Centralia Providence hospital Feb 13th. He has requested no funeral or memorials; he will be interned next to his father at Chaplin - Bothwell Cemetery in Saskathewan. He is survived by his brother Elwood, nephews Kris and Kurt, stepson Wayne; his best friend Dan who was a caretaker, confidant, chauffeur and intellectual sparring partner; friend Kevin the car buff; last but not least, lifelong friend, caretaker and partner Mary. Sherwood was predeceased by siblings Sterling, Beatrice, Silvia, Chris, Tony, Fronie and Robert; and former spouse Audrey.
Sherwood led a long life filled with variety and controversy. A jack of all trades, his multitude of careers included entrepreneur, radio and television talk show host, editor of LewisNews.com, master builder, general contractor, farmer, Bear automotive alignment technician, and Canadian soldier. His hobbies included antique vehicle restoration, welding, raising lamas, and advocating against governmental overreach, corruption, constitutional rights and freedoms.
